Using and maintaining this machine
Check the conditions alongside each answer. Foot attachment, shank type and adapter requirements are separate; one does not establish universal accessory fit.
Topics without published owner answers (4)
No published answer is not evidence of incompatibility or non-applicability. These are evidence gaps, not a claim that every topic applies to this machine.

Bobbins and hook
Insertion and rotation
conditional
Insert the full bobbin with its PFAFF logo toward the bobbin case, route the thread through slot A and under tension spring B to the opening; when pulled, the bobbin must rotate clockwise.
Switch the machine off before bobbin/needle-area adjustments. Use the manual's exact illustrated bobbin/case; orientation does not establish bobbin class, dimensions, material or interchangeable products. This is a source-specific check, not the complete threading procedure.
Lift latch E and push the case fully onto sewing-hook pin C with opening D upward; check that pulling the bobbin thread does not dislodge the case.
Switch off for the adjustment and follow the full illustrated manual. A securely seated documented case does not establish interchangeable hook/case fitment.
When skipped stitches are caused by using the wrong needle, the manual directs use of needle system 130/705 H.
This is the specific wrong-needle troubleshooting remedy, not a blanket all-purpose claim. The separate thick-thread row names a large-eye needle (system 130 N); do not erase that condition or infer equivalence.
With the machine switched off and the presser foot lowered, place the needle at its highest position; insert the new needle with its flat side rearward as far as it will go and firmly tighten the needle screw.
Loosen the retaining screw to remove the old needle downward; hold the new needle while tightening. Do not use bent needles, and follow the entire source procedure. No torque, clamp-tool or sibling procedure is inferred.
The integrated needle threader cannot be used with a twin needle.
This restriction does not establish a permissible twin-needle width, size, stitch or fabric range; follow the manual's separate twin-threading instructions.
Place the foot under its holder and lower the presser-foot lifter so the foot pins engage; raise the lifter to check the attachment. To remove, press the foot's front upward and rear downward until it disengages.
Switch the main switch off before changing the foot. This is the documented foot/holder mechanism, not standardized shank class, a generic adapter, arbitrary accessory compatibility or a full machine setup procedure.
For all work with IDT, use a presser foot with the center-back cut-out.
Raise the presser foot before engaging the documented IDT control. The restriction applies to IDT work and does not establish universal compatibility of every cut-out foot or a sellable part.
Switch off and unplug before cleaning; unplug before removing covers or performing the documented servicing adjustments. Frequency only: follow the full needle-plate/feed-dog/hook cleaning and reassembly instructions.

What this passage proves
Insertion and rotation: Insert the full bobbin with its PFAFF logo toward the bobbin case, route the thread through slot A and under tension spring B to the opening; when pulled, the bobbin must rotate clockwise.
Case installation: Lift latch E and push the case fully onto sewing-hook pin C with opening D upward; check that pulling the bobbin thread does not dislodge the case.
Insertion orientation: With the machine switched off and the presser foot lowered, place the needle at its highest position; insert the new needle with its flat side rearward as far as it will go and firmly tighten the needle screw.
Attachment mechanism: Place the foot under its holder and lower the presser-foot lifter so the foot pins engage; raise the lifter to check the attachment. To remove, press the foot's front upward and rear downward until it disengages.
Cleaning interval: Clean the machine every 10–15 hours of operation.
Always unplug this sewing machine
from the electric outlet immediately after using and before cleaning.
Switch the sewing machine off (“0”) when making any adjustment in the needle area, such as threading
needle, changing needle, threading bobbin, or changing presser foot, etc.
Always unplug the sewing machine from the electrical outlet when removing covers, lubricating, or when
making any other user servicing adjustments mentioned in the instruction manual.
Insertion and rotation: Insert the full bobbin with its PFAFF logo toward the bobbin case, route the thread through slot A and under tension spring B to the opening; when pulled, the bobbin must rotate clockwise.
Inserting the bobbin
Insert the full bobbin (with the Pfaff logo facing towards the
bobbin case) in the bobbin case. When doing so, pull the thread
through slot A, then under tension spring B until it rests in the
opening (see arrow).
When you look at the bobbin and pull the thread, the bobbin
must turn clockwise.
Case installation: Lift latch E and push the case fully onto sewing-hook pin C with opening D upward; check that pulling the bobbin thread does not dislodge the case.
Inserting the bobbin case
Lift latch E and push the bobbin case fully onto pin C of the
sewing hook. Opening D of the bobbin case must face upwards.
Check:
Pull the bobbin thread sharply. The bobbin case must not fall
out of the hook.
Insertion orientation: With the machine switched off and the presser foot lowered, place the needle at its highest position; insert the new needle with its flat side rearward as far as it will go and firmly tighten the needle screw.
Changing the needle
Switch off the main switch
To remove: Lower the presser foot and set the needle to its
highest position. Loosen the needle screw (52) and pull the
needle out downwards.
To insert: The fl at side A of the
needle must face to the rear.
Lower the presser foot and insert
the needle, pushing it up as far
as it will go. Hold the needle and
tighten the needle screw (52)
fi rmly.
Attachment mechanism: Place the foot under its holder and lower the presser-foot lifter so the foot pins engage; raise the lifter to check the attachment. To remove, press the foot's front upward and rear downward until it disengages.
Attaching the presser foot
Place the presser foot under the presser foot holder (30), so that
when the presser foot lifter (51) is lowered, the pins of the foot
engage in the presser foot holder.
Removing the presser foot
Switch off the main switch.
Press the front part of the presser foot upwards and at the same
time the rear part downwards until it disengages from the
presser foot holder (30).
Check:
Please check that the presser foot is properly attached by raising
the presser foot lifter.
